Asia’s biggest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion is heading to another country with the Cotai Arena in Macau set to play host to ONE: “Heroes of the World” next month. The August 13th event will be headlined by an interim flyweight title fight between Adriano Moraes and Andrew Leone.
Leone (8-3) has won three fights out of three for ONE and is preparing for this fight at Bali Muay Thai & MMA,
“It’s my time now. I’ve been working very hard on my game, and feel I’m at that point in my career where I’m ready to just take the reins and show everyone who I am. With an amazing team behind me, I have all the tools I need to compete at the highest level,” he said.
Moraes (14-2) is the former flyweight champion. He was originally slated to face Kairat Akhmetov but the Kazakh is injured and so he faces Leone for an interim title instead,
“Real champions pick themselves up when they are down. I feel renewed as a fighter and ready to reclaim my place at the top of my division. I’m going to get inside the cage against Andrew [Leone] and show the world that I’m back,” Moraes said.
The card also features two big lightweight fights with Eduard Folayang (15-5) facing Adrian Pang (22-8-2) and Eddie Ng (7-3) going up against Honorio Banario (9-6). There’s also a clash between two top featherweights as Christian Lee (5-0) faces Martin Nguyen (6-1).
Victor Cui, CEO of ONE Championship, stated: “ONE continues its rise as the world’s most exciting mixed martial arts promotion with another massive fight card planned in Macau next month. We have some tremendous match-ups for fight fans out there, including a thrilling main event between two of the world’s best flyweights in Adriano Moraes and Andrew Leone.”
