After pics surface of him on canvas, Malignaggi wants full McGregor sparring video posted

Paulie Malignaggi is making it clear on social media that he wasn’t dropped in a sparring session with Conor McGregor.

Retired boxer Paulie Malignaggi has always had a reputation for telling it like it is. The New York native and current commentator was invited to be a part of Conor McGregor’s training camp for his August 26th boxing match with Floyd Mayweather, and has sparred with him multiple times already. He has called the sessions “educational”, talked about McGregor’s power, and said that he respected Conor’s work ethic.

He might feel a little differently now though.

After a 12-round sparring session Tuesday night, images surfaced showing Malignaggi off balance and on the canvas – the idea behind them seeming to indicate that McGregor dropped him while they were sparring.

Once Malignaggi got wind of this, he went to social media to clear the air. He stated that he was pushed down and he demanded that the full footage of the training session be released:

It isn’t surprising at all that issues would arise between Malignaggi and McGregor, or McGregor’s handlers. Both men have healthy egos and Malignaggi isn’t going to be used as a victim for McGregor ahead of the Mayweather bout. Unfortunately for Paulie, that might not be what Conor’s camp has in mind for him.

McGregor and Mayweather will meet in a 12-round, 154-pound boxing match in Las Vegas on August 26th.
