A foot injury has forced welterweight veteran Alan Jouban to withdraw from his scheduled clash against Brian Camozzi at UFC 213. Jouban announced the news Tuesday on Instagram, explaining that he had to pull out of the July 8 bout after breaking his foot last week during training.
“It turns out that I fractured my foot on Friday at sparring,” Jouban said. “I’ve been training on it for three days now with a broken foot. So that puts me out of my fight July 8th. A little bit disappointing. I’ve been healthy training my butt off for two months, I finally get a fight, and I’m injured. So I’m sorry to everyone, family, friends, everyone excited for it. I’m going to have to push it back a couple more weeks, as soon as I can get another fight.”
LIFE and the FIGHT GAME.. both full of highs and lows. Today, not such a good day. Just gonna take it in stride..

The 35-year-old Jouban (15-5) was looking to rebound after having his recent three-fight winning streak snapped by a second-round submission loss to Gunnar Nelson at UFC Fight Night 107. Altogether, Jouban is 6-3 under the UFC umbrella, a run highlighted by a trio of ‘Fight of the Night’ victories over Seth Baczynski, Matt Dwyer, and Belal Muhammad.
The UFC has yet to announce a replacement to challenge Camozzi (7-3), a 25-year-old prospect who saw his five-fight win streak come to an end with a TKO loss to Randy Brown in his UFC debut last December. Notably, Camozzi is the younger brother of UFC veteran Chris Camozzi.
