Call him Alberto Del Rio, his WWE name. Call him El Patrón, his Lucha Libre name. Or call him Dos Caras Jr., his mixed martial arts name.
Whatever you call him, it’s clear that the former WWE champion is having a hard time these days, in and out of the squared circle.
Del Rio was attacked by a crazed fan before he was schedule to appear at Sunday’s Heroes Inmortales X event, promoted by AAA. Del Rio posted the wounds on Instagram.

Del Rio left the WWE recently after a Wellness Policy violation. He was also unhappy with his push. Instead of main eventing shows as a Hispanic hero, he was forced to appear in mid-card matches as a heel.
Del Rio is one of the most successful Mexican-Americans in professional wrestling history. Still, most observers believe he only tapped into his potential as a big-time star.
Del Rio enjoyed a career as an MMA fighter before jumping to wrestling. He left MMA with a record of 9-5. Here’s Del Rio winning his MMA debut. Ouch.
