Nebraska is getting a battle of strawweight striking aces.
A bout between Alexa Grasso and Angela Hill has been targeted for UFC Lincoln on Aug. 25, the UFC announced Tuesday via its UFC Español Twitter account. MMA Weekly was the first to report the news.
Grasso (10-2) is coming off a first-round submission loss to Tatiana Suarez at UFC Chile last month. The Mexican fighter has lost two of three after beginning her career undefeated in nine fights. Grasso, 24, is still regarded as a top prospect in the women’s strawweight division.
Hill (8-4) last fought at UFC on FOX 28 in February, a unanimous decision win over Maryna Moroz. The Alliance MMA product sports a 2-2 record in the UFC since returning from Invicta FC, where she won the strawweight title. Hill, 31, has won six of her last eight fights in total following her first UFC run.
UFC Lincoln is currently headlined by a lightweight fight between Justin Gaethje and Al Iaquinta, though Iaquinta has disputed the validity of the bout.
