DC-ya! Alexander Gustafsson wants his title shot back. The Mauler was forced to surrender his rematch against Jon Jones after a knee injury sent him under the knife (details). In his absence, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) promoted Daniel Cormier to No. 1 contender (with great results), but now Bones is hurt and on the sidelines until 2015.

And that’s when The Mauler will be ready to make his return (via Facebook): I just heard the news that Jones is injured and the fight is rescheduled to January 3???? Until then, I will be more than ready, it was MY fight to begin with and I WANT the fight as the number 1 contender. End of story!! I think Cormier might have something to say about that. Jones and Gustafsson battled to a close decision at UFC 165 last September, with The Mauler nearly claiming the division crown.

Bones refused to break, however, and was able to escape Toronto with his championship intact. The promotion intends to give the towering Swede a second go-round, but probably not at UFC 182. Unless you, as a fan, are siding with Gustafsson?
