Despite her dominance as women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey is no longer a big deal after getting knocked out by Holly Holm at the UFC 193 pay-per-view (PPV) event last November. Well, that’s according to No. 4 ranked contender Amanda Nunes.

From her UFC 198 Q&A (via MMA Fighting):

“After I get the belt, I will be well prepared to face anyone they put in front of me. What matters the most now is the belt. Winning it, I’ll train specifically for each opponent, and I will be ready for Ronda, for sure, because she’s no big deal. She just lost, and will lose again if she fights me.”

First things first.

Nunes won’t be fighting Rousey unless she’s able to upset Miesha Tate in the UFC 200 co-main event, set for July 9 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. That’s because “Rowdy” was promised a chance to reclaim her crown once she returns to combat sports.
