As ruthless lawmen of these parts, United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has wreaked havoc on all Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) combatants. In 2016, USADA came down on prominent UFC stars like Jon Jones, Brock Lesnar, Josh Barnett, Frank Mir and Cris Cyborg, who later proved her innocence. The drug-testing organization has also been met with resistance in the form of firearm. Still, USADA has done its best to pave the way for a clean sport, performing 2,291 total tests on 586 fighters in 2016.
Check out below to see which fighters USADA tested the most during that span (courtesy of USADA):
Amanda Nunes, Cain Velasquez, Cody Garbrandt, Cris Cyborg, Dan Henderson, Daniel Cormier, Fabricio Werdum, Michael Bisping, Yoel Romero, Stipe Miocic, Vitor Belfort and Conor McGregor
Tyron Woodley, Stephen Thompson, and Miesha Tate
Josh Barnett and Johny Hendricks
Eddie Alvarez and Dominick Cruz
Silva, who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs back in 2015, was tested the most out of any UFC fighter. The 41-year-old former middleweight champion is coming off his first win since 2012 after defeating Derek Brunson at UFC 208 via unanimous decision.
Fight fans may have their specific issues with USADA, but a cleaner Octagon is a better Octagon.
