Anderson Silva offers words of encouragement to hero Jose Aldo after loss at UFC 212

Silva sent out some kind words to Jose Aldo after his devastating loss to Max Holloway at UFC 212.

Silva, who has long regarded Aldo as one of the best fighters in the sport, sent out an emotional message to his friend on social media.

‘The Spider’ told Aldo to keep his head up and remember how much of an inspiration he has been to many fans in Brazil and the rest of the world.

Aldo, a two time UFC featherweight world champion, started off well against ‘Blessed’ but faded towards the end of the second round. Holloway kicked things up a gear in the third and overwhelmed his opponent with pressure boxing. After landing a hard 1-2 combination, Holloway manhandled Aldo on the ground and earned the TKO stoppage, becoming the first Hawaiian UFC champion since B.J. Penn.

Aldo released a statement shortly after the fight, thanking the fans for the overwhelming support. His long time coach and mentor, Andre Pederneiras, promises he will bounce back stronger than ever and reclaim the featherweight title.
