Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather is far from being a done deal, but two fighters are already campaigning to face each other in the co-main event of a possible event.

Former boxing world champion Roy Jones Jr. suggested on his social media on Wednesday that adding a bout with former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva to the event would make it the “biggest event” in history.

Jones Jr. and Silva wanted to face each other in a boxing ring for years, since the Brazilian’s days as 185-pound champion in the Octagon, but the UFC was always against the idea.

After the boxer’s tweet, Silva posted his own request on Twitter.

All a dream needs to be accomplished is someone who believes that it can be done. #JonesJrVSSilva #SilvaVSJonesJr @RealRoyJonesJr

Silva (34-8-1 in MMA), who competed a couple of times under boxing rules in the past, recently put an end to a five-fight winless streak in the UFC with a close decision victory over Derek Brunson on Feb. 11. Six days later, Jones Jr. (65-9 in boxing) scored a TKO victory over Bobby Gunn in boxing.
