A heavyweight bout between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett will take place at the UFC’s return to Germany, the company announced early this morning.
The fight will headline the UFC Fight Night card, which will take place at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg on Sept. 3.
Arlovski (25-12, 1 NC) is on a two-fight losing streak heading into the upcoming fight, his first such streak since returning to the UFC in June of 2014. Prior to consecutive losses to Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem, “The Pit Bull” had won four in a row, including wins over Travis Browne and Frank Mir.
Barnett (34-8) is also looking to get back in his winning ways, having lost his most recent outing to Ben Rothwell at UFC on FOX 18 last January. His last UFC win came in September of 2015 in a unanimous decision over Roy Nelson at a UFC Fight Night card.
UFC Hamburg will also feature a light heavyweight bout between Ryan Bader and Ilir Latifi. More bouts are expected to be announced in the coming months.
