Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welcomes The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 standout Angela Hill back to the Octagon for a 115-pound showdown against division contender Jessica Andrade.
They’ll do the deed at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 104 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, locked and loaded for Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on Sat., Feb. 4, 2017.
And this time, “Overkill” can skip the fourth-month advanced notice required by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), which torpedoed her return at UFC 207 back in December.
On December 13, 2016, UFC strawweight Angela Hill was re-enrolled by USADA into the UFC Anti-Doping Policy Registered Testing Pool (RTP). Hill had previously been part of the RTP as a contracted athlete in 2015, before she was released at the discretion of UFC and subsequently removed from the program. UFC is granting Hill an exemption to the four-month RTP requirement, which will allow her to compete against Jessica Andrade on February 4, 2017, in Houston, Texas.
Hill (6-2) was originally released from UFC back in late 2015.
Undaunted, “Overkill” made hay while the sun shined in Invicta FC, where she racked up four straight wins and one atomweight championship. She was last seen turning away Kaline Medeiros last November.
Now she’s back … but will she be an instant strawweight title contender?
Time will tell.
