ONE: Ascent To Power is set for the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 6. The show will feature the organization’s first ever female title fight. Rising star Angela Lee will be challenging Japanese veteran Mei Yamaguchi for the inaugural 105-pound title.
Lee (5-0) is half Singaporean, half Korean and has finished all five of the opponents she has faced in the ONE Championship cage. The 19-year-old comes from a family of martial artists and holds a brown belt in BJJ and a black belt in tae kwon do.

Yamaguchi (15-8-1) recently won an eight-woman Deep-Jewels Grand Prix to become the organization’s 105-pound champion. She is a nine-year veteran, who has also fought for Pancrase and VTJ. She has never been stopped in any of her 24 fights.
Lee is 14 years the junior of the Japanese atomweight and has finished all of her professional and amateur fights inside the first two rounds with every single one of her pro wins coming courtesy of a submission.
Yamaguchi has never been stopped with strikes or submitted, so something has to give on May 6. Either Lee is going to lose her 100 percent record for finishing fights or the Japanese veteran will be beaten inside the distance for the first time, but whatever happens, the winner will earn the right to call herself ONE Championship’s first female champion.
In addition to the first women’s title bout, ONE: Ascent To Power also features the first title defense for middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash, who faces Aleksei Butorin.
