A former UFC champion is currently dealing with a frightening situation.

Three cars belonging to Anthony Pettis were set on fire Thursday morning outside Pettis’ home in Milwaukee, according to the report from local television station Fox 6 Now. A video of the aftermath of the incident was captured on video by a neighbor. Milwaukee police confirmed to MMA Fighting that an incident occurred, but would not identify Pettis was the victim due to policy.

Pettis’ neighbor Carson Blaszak said he saw a car speeding through his neighborhood, so he pulled out his phone and began recording video at around 1 a.m., per the report.

“Right around the same time as that happened, there was kind of a large bang,” Blaszak told the channel. “It was three cars caught on fire. I just, I ran outside, and I was hoping, you know, the house hopefully wasn’t gonna catch on fire.”

A preliminary investigation done by the Milwaukee police revealed that an unknown suspect used an accelerant to ignite two vehicles and the fire spread to the third car, a spokesperson for the police department told MMA Fighting on Thursday. Milwaukee PD is currently looking for suspects, but none have been identified at this time.

No one was injured in the blaze and it did not spread to Pettis’ home. It’s unclear if the former UFC lightweight champion was inside the house when the incident occurred.

“Luckily, the police department and fire department were able to get here very quickly and took care of it and everyone was safe,” Blaszak said.

Pettis, 29, was just booked for his next fight Wednesday, a featherweight contender bout against Max Holloway set for UFC 206 on Dec. 10 in Toronto.
