Antonio Carlos Junior has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Elias Theodorou, again.
The Brazilian middleweight was scheduled to face Theodorou at UFC 231 on Dec. 8 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but had to pull out of the fight, citing that the injury that canceled his first scheduled bout with Theodorou now requires surgery.
“Cara de Sapato” announced the news on his personal Twitter account.
Carlos Junior and Theodorou were originally scheduled to fight in September at UFC Sao Paulo, but the fight was pushed back to December due to an injury by Carlos Junior.
It is unclear whether Theodorou will stay on the card, but it’s likely he’ll get a new opponent for the event. The Canadian is 15–2 as professional fighter and he’s currently on a two-fight win streak with wins over Dan Kelly and Trevor Smith.
