Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight contenders Gabriel Gonzaga and Derrick Lewis went toe-to-toe earlier today (April 9, 2016) at UFC Fight Night 86 inside Zagreb, Arena in Zagreb, Croatia
And it was a heck of a scrap.
Lewis started off the fight with a high kick that barely clipped “Napao,” who quickly went for the clinch, scoring an early takedown on “The Black Beast.”
The jiu-jitsu ace tried to score an early submission, but Derrick proved his defense was up to snuff, forcing the action back to his domain, which is on the feet. But, he couldn’t do much while there, as Gonzaga was content with playing defense, holding him up against the cage.
That is until Lewis decided enough was enough, as he shot in with some vicious strikes that dropped the former title contender, only to follow up with some vicious ground strikes to force and end to the bout. Though it seemed “Napao” was already out before he hit the canvas.
