Bec Rawlings will look to turn around a three-fight losing streak when she faces Ashlee Evans-Smith at UFC 223.
Newsday.com confirmed the fight with a UFC official on Sunday.
Evans-Smith will make her first appearance in the Octagon as a UFC flyweight according to the report, having come up short against Ketlen Vieira and Sarah Moras in her last two outings as a bantamweight.
The Californian has gone 2-3 in the UFC since signing for the organization in 2014. Following her debut defeat at the hands of Raquel Pennington, she took a decision win over Marion Reneau and a third-round TKO victory over Veronica Macedo.
Rawlings had an unsuccessful debut in the 125-pound weight class when she came out of UFC Fight Night 121 on the wrong side of split decision to Jessica-Rose Clark. “Rowdy” made the decision to move up a division after losses at strawweight to Paige VanZant and Tecia Torres.
The Australian has amassed a record of 2-4 in the UFC after being signed on the back of her stint on The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion Will Be Crowned. Her wins came against Lisa Ellis — who she submitted in the first round of their clash at UFC Fight Night 65 — and Seo Hee Ham, who Rawlings bested over three rounds at UFC Fight Night 85.
