Dual-sport veteran Chidi “Bang Bang” Njokuani — winner of four out of his last five mixed martial arts (MMA) fights — will bring his experience to the Bellator cage for a featured showdown against Ricky Rainey inside WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla., on Nov. 20, 2015.
If the nickname “Bang Bang” sounds familiar, you may know him from his kickboxing career (12-1-1) or from his MMA career (13-4, 1 NC) with promotions like Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Tachi Palace.
He has an older brother who might ring a bell, too.
The younger Njokuani now gets his chance to shine on the big stage, bringing his experienced record in two sports to Bellator 146, taking on Rainey (11-3), a veteran Welterweight fighter.
Rainey has had a good run of late, rebounding from a technical knockout loss to Michael “Venom” Page to earn back-to-back finishes of Johnny Cisneros and Jesse Juarez in his last two Bellator appearances.
Chili Njokuani vs. Ricky Rainey joins the Spike TV-televised portion of Bellator 146 as the third fight announced for a show that will be headlined by sterling strikers Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef and Hisaki Kato .
