Bellator 153: “Koreshkov vs. Henderson” took place tonight (Fri., April 22, 2016) from inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., streaming live on Spike TV. The main event saw Andrey Koreshkov attempt to defend his Welterweight title for the first time against the debuting Benson Henderson, fresh out of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and getting an immediate title shot off his reputation coming in.
Did “Spartan” shut down the “Smooth” fight style or was a new champion crowned?

He hurt Henderson over and over with knees, fists and spinning kicks. Henderson would respond by looking for takedowns, but he couldn’t take the bigger and stronger Koreshkov off his feet.

Jimmy Smith spoke to Andrey Koreshkov and his translator after the fight.
“I knew it from the beginning. My coach Alexander Shlemenko told me that I would win every round in this fight. I won it with him with his help and with the help of my team and all the other teams. I really want to ask you please let my coach Alexander Shlemenko to get in the cage ….View full article
