Bellator 154 took place May 14, 2016 at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. Ahead of the live event headlined by King Mo and Phil Davis in a No. 1 contender’s match, Bellator announced a scholarship in memory of Jordan Parsons, who was originally set to compete on this card.

R.I.P. Jordan Parsons 1990-2016.

The young Bellator fighter was scheduled to compete at Bellator 154 last Saturday night (May 14, 2016) in San Jose, Calif., but was struck by a hit-and-run driver on April 30 in Delray Beach, Fla., and ultimately succumbed to his injuries on May 4.

In his honor, Bellator MMA announced it will create the “Jordan Parsons Memorial Scholarship Fund,” which will fund the recipients attending The J. Robinson Intensive Wrestling Camp where Parsons sharpened his skills.

“Jordan Parsons was an integral part of the Bellator family and his devastating loss is one that we are all continuing to mourn,” Bellator President Scott Coker said. “In collaborating with Jordan’s family, we are very proud to announce this scholarship program in his name. We are hopeful that the future recipients of this scholarship will be afforded a wrestling education and honor Parson’s name by embodying the passion and intensity that he had for this sport and life in general.”
