The action is building for UFC Fight Night 109 on May 28 from inside Ericsson Globe arena in Stockholm, Sweden, as welterweight veteran Ben Saunders will now meet Peter Sobotta and youngster Emil Meek will challenge Nordine Taleb, per a recent announcement by Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) officials.
Saunders, 33, has compiled a 4-1 UFC record since the beginning of 2014 and is looking to do whatever it takes to crack the top 15 in his third go-round with the promotion. As for Sobotta, his 3-1 record since making his UFC debut in 2014 suggests he’s ready for a step up in competition and “Killa B” will certainly give that to him.
Meek, 28, gained mixed martial arts (MMA) notoriety with a knockout over Rousimar Palhares last May and made good on his UFC debut with a decision win over Jordan Mein at UFC 206. He’ll look to gain more traction in the welterweight division when he takes on Taleb, 35, who is coming off a decision loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC Fight Night 105 this past February.
UFC Fight Night 109 will be headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between former title challengers Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira.
