After losing his Bellator MMA debut opposite Welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 153, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion Benson Henderson will meet Patricio Freire at Bellator 160 on Aug. 26 live on Spike TV from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, per a recent report by LA Times.

Following Bellator 160, Premier Boxing Champions will showcase a bout between former two-division champion Robert Guerrero and David Peralta on Aug. 27 under the same roof. It is part of a back-to-back combat sports set that will take place exclusively on Spike TV.

Freire, 29, will be moving up to Lightweight for the first time in his career in order to meet “‘Smooth.” The former Bellator Featherweight champion is coming off a second-round submission victory over Henry Corrales at Bellator 153.

As for Henderson, who made a huge open market splash earlier this year by signing with Bellator, will head back down to a 155-pound division that made him the household name he is today. Remember, the 32-year-old once held the UFC Lightweight title by defeating the likes of Frankie Edgar, Nate Diaz and Gilbert Melendez.

A victory for either Henderson or Freire will probably result in a title opportunity against current divisional champion Michael Chandler.
