Vote now in the Bloody Elbow Baddest Tournament to determine the Greatest MMA Lightweight of All Time. Today’s match-up: #1 B.J. Penn vs. #4 Jens Pulver. Vote now!

We’ve had two #2 vs. #3 battles so far, and so far, the #2 seeds are winless, as the 209 has pulled off back to back upsets. First it was Gilbert Melendez, now it’s Nate Diaz, taking out Tony Ferguson, 59-41. Diaz was reached for comment and said that, no fine sir, he was not in fact surprised by this result. Or something like that. Diaz moves on to the Elite 8 with this win.

Today, the overall tournament top seed is back in action, as #1 B.J. Penn takes on #4 Jens Pulver. These two have a history, going 1-1 years ago and coaching The Ultimate Fighter against each other. We never saw the rubber match in the real world, so instead we get it right here.
