Vote now in the Bloody Elbow Baddest Tournament to determine the Greatest MMA Lightweight of All Time. Today’s match-up: #1 Frankie Edgar vs. #8 Clay Guida. Vote now!

Upset! It took only 4 match-ups for our first upset of the tournament, as #4 seeded Khabib Nurmagomedov could not overcome the power of #5 Joe Lauzon. It started as a close match, but as time went on, Lauzon pulled ahead to take the win by a pretty solid 48-31 margin. He will now try to keep that run going in the next round when he takes on the winner of Rafael dos Anjos vs. Jamie Varner. It’s worth noting here that Khabib was a #1 seed in our Greatest Wrestler tournament, and was defeated in the opening round by #8 seed Rashad Evans. The BE’s Baddest is not kind to the Eagle.

Before going on, a kudos to the many contributors who led some GREAT discussion in this one. Awesome job all.

Today, a match that may not be quite as close, but you got to do the 1 vs 8 seeds sometime. #1 seed former UFC champ Frankie Edgar vs. #8 seed former Strikeforce champ Clay Guida. We’ll see if The Carpenter can impress the judges enough to get the cards to fall his way.
