In 2003, a young B.J. Penn bloodied up Takanori Gomi and tapped him out. In 2017, he did it again, this time in BE’s Baddest. The #1 seed Penn had no troubles at all with #3 Gomi, sending The Fireball Kid packing by a score of 42-3, and stamping his ticket to the Final Four. His opponent will be determined today.

The third battle in our Elite Eight round is a battle of former champions – UFC vs. Strikeforce. On the UFC side, it’s #1 Rafael dos Anjos. For Strikeforce, it’s #3 Gilbert Melendez. Melendez has had the tougher road here, barely getting by Cowboy Cerrone last round – let’s see if he can squeak out another upset.
