Vote now in the Bloody Elbow Baddest Tournament to determine the Greatest MMA Lightweight of All Time. Today’s match-up: #2 Donald Cerrone vs. #3 Gilbert Melendez. Vote now!

No big shocker in the final opening round fight, as #1 seed Rafael dos Anjos toppled #8 seed Jamie Varner. He now moves on to a Sweet 16 match-up with Joe Lauzon. More importantly, his win brings us to the end of round 1. Lots of good discussions so far, but things mostly by the numbers, with only 3 upsets and no one lower than a 5 seed advancing. Let’s see if anything changes this round.

Today, we kick off the Sweet 16 with a great battle. Strikeforce Never Die vs. WEC Never Die as #2 Donald Cerrone takes on #3 Gilbert Melendez. It seems criminal that these two never met in their primes in the real world, but here we are, making it happen at BE’s Baddest. The winner will be the first man to advance to the Elite 8.
