Nine-time world champion grappler Bruno Malfacine will fight on April 13 in Brazil.
Nine-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion, flyweight Bruno Malfacine is headed to Brave CF for his second pro MMA Bout. According to a press release from the company, Malfacine will make his debut with the promotion on April 13, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
The 31-year-old has no official opponent as of yet, and heads into the fight following a submission win over Romario Garcia in the Brazilian regional circuit. To improve his skills, Malfacine joined American Top Team, where he can train alongside notable fighters such as current welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Andrei Arlovski, Dustin Poirier and many other notable names.
‘Bad Boy’ has won world championships at 126 lbs as recently as 2017 (and as far back as 2007), while also scoring four Pan-American titles and an European one, as well.
Also planned for the Brave CF card, UFC veteran Lucas Martins will take on Luan Santiago for the promotion’s interim lightweight title. The winner will likely face current champion Ottman Azaitar, who is on hiatus from fighting until after Ramadan – from May 15 to June 14 – is concluded.
