The main boxing attraction of the weekend takes places on Showtime when Shawn Porter looks to bounce back from his 2016 loss to Keith Thurman by taking on veteran Andre Berto. Here are the odds for the fight as of Wednesday afternoon, courtesy of Bovada:

Andre Berto +400
Shawn Porter -600

No surprise that Porter is the favorite. Both Berto and Porter were, at one time, undefeated prospects seen as possible future world champions. Berto is further past that point now, as he is 4-4 since suffering his first pro loss back in 2011, while Porter is 2-2 since his first loss in 2014. Porter also remains a top ranked Welterweight, currently sitting at #3 on the Ring Magazine rankings list. Yes, he comes in off a loss, but that loss was a close decision to the #1 Welterweight, so no harm there. If anything, these odds are perhaps a bit generous to Berto, who is unpredictable so “anything can happen” but realistically doesn’t have much of a shot here. It’s also entirely possible Berto pushes the pace and forces a Porter KO win, or that Porter slows things down, fights tactically, and takes the decision, so there’s no prop bet I can comfortable recommend for those who want to go with the favorite. No action to be found on this fight.

Two other fights taking place this weekend see even wider odds, with little of note for betters:

Jermell Charlo -2000
Charles Hatley +900

Kubrat Pulev -10000
Kevin Johnson +1600

Both Jermell Charlo (who fights on the Showtime card) and Kubrat Pulev are the obvious favorites, and I see no reason to expect an upset from either underdog here. With that wide a margin, there’s not much to see here.

Here is a round-up of some of the other notable fights announced for 2017. Most interesting here are the favorite odds for Anthony Joshua over Wladimir Klitschko, and the wide favorite odds for the hot up and comer Gervonta Davis against Liam Walsh.

Anthony Joshua -240
Wladimir Klitschko +190

Joseph Parker -185
Hughie Fury +150

Canelo Alvarez -800
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. +475

Gervonta Davis -450
Liam Welsh +325

Terence Crawford -1800
Felix Diaz +850

Errol Spence Jr. -175
Kell Brook +145

Adonis Stevenson -2250
Andrzej Fonfara +950

Andre Ward -160
Sergey Kovalev +130

And finally, presented without further comment…

Floyd Mayweather -850
Conor McGregor +525
