Have Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fans seen the last of former 265-pound champion Brock Lesnar?
Maybe, maybe not.
After scoring a unanimous decision win over Mark Hunt at UFC 200 — likely to be negated in the wake of his positive drug test — the part-time WWE headliner returned to the land of make believe to wrassle Randy Orton at the SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) this Sunday.
After that? Lesnar will attempt to smooth out some of those bumps in the road.
“I’ve got a few challenges to overcome before I can get there. I don’t know. For right now, I’m gonna focus on my WWE career. I wanted to step back into the Octagon and avenge my loss against diverticulitis. Sunday I’m facing Randy Orton at Summerslam and that’s really all that’s on my mind. To my fans that watch me in the Octagon, I thank them for their support. This has been a bumpy road. I’m gonna get through this alright. And there will be a day, maybe, that they’ll see me back in the Octagon.”
It’s a bumpy road indeed.
Lesnar was popped by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) after an out-of-competition drug test returned positive for the fertility drug clomiphene, which is likely to result in a suspension from mixed martial arts (MMA). At age 39, time is clearly of the essence.
If and when he does come back, I wouldn’t want to be the one to tell this guy.
