Former US Olympian and rising welterweight star Errol Spence Jr. goes for the IBF championship against titleholder Kell Brook. Watch Spence’s last five knockout wins.
If you’re looking for future stars in American boxing, Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. (21-0, 18 KOs) has massive potential to become one. The 2012 Olympian has torn through the competition in his five-year professional career, earning himself an IBF welterweight (147 lbs) title shot against reigning champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs).
Despite the impressive KO rate, the 27-year-old isn’t your typical one-shot destroyer. He systematically breaks you down and once he has you hurt, the fight is as good as over. I believe he’s one of the best body punchers in the business. Brook represents by far his toughest test to date, and it’s a genuine 50-50 contest, as Spence tries to win a major title in enemy territory.
To get you hyped up for Saturday’s contest, here’s a look at the last five knockout wins for Spence, including against former champion Chris Algieri, as well as Chris Van Heerden (MMA fans may know him as that guy who sparred with Conor McGregor).
August 2016: KO-6 vs. Leonard Bundu
April 2016: TKO-5 vs. Chris Algieri
November 2015: TKO-5 vs. Alejandro Barrera
September 2015: TKO-8 vs. Chris Van Heerden
June 2015: TKO-3 vs. Phil Lo Greco
Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence Jr. airs live from the Brammall Lane soccer stadium in Sheffield, England on Saturday, May 27th at 5:15 PM ET/2:15 PM PT on Showtime.
