I guess he’s done healing, pal.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Chris Weidman will return to the Octagon on April 8 when he tangles with top streaking contender Gegard Mousasi at the UFC 210 pay-per-view (PPV) event, set for KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
UFC announced the pairing on Thursday.
Weidman (13-2) is trying to slam the brakes on a two-fight losing streak. After coughing up his middleweight title to Luke Rockhold at UFC 194, the “All American” was planished by 185-pound bruiser Yoel Romero at UFC 205.
And the competition isn’t getting any easier.
Mousasi (41-6-2) is currently riding a four-fight win streak, with his last three ending by way of technical knockout (like this one). “The Dreamcatcher” has been calling for a Weidman showdown in order to get himself one step closer to a division title shot.
No other bouts have been announced for the promotion’s return to Buffalo; however, that’s likely to change in the coming weeks, if not days.
