Over the course of his first three fights in World Series of Fighting, middleweight Clifford “Big Cat” Starks has managed to build off the success he started while in Bellator and work his way towards a title shot.
Looking back over his wins, Starks feels he’s been able to grow as a fighter and continue to improve as he worked his way up the ranks.
“Each fight was a little bit of a different fight,” Starks told MMAWeekly.com. “I had three replacements in the matter of a week’s time for my first fight, but that kind of taught me to get ready for opponents on the fly. I feel like I can be a challenge for anyone in the division.
“I feel like I can always improve, though. I’m always looking for that next step. Even after this fight, I know there’s going to be improvements that I can always make. That’s kind of the beauty of fighting: consistently trying to find a way to perfect your art.”

Starks (13-2) will get the opportunity to make his hard work pay off when he challenges David Branch (17-3) for the middleweight title in the WSOF 30 main event on Saturday in Las Vegas.
“I know it’s a big opportunity and a big challenge, but if I let the lights kind of over-brighten everything, it will affect my performance,” said Starks. “So I’m going to take it like every other fight because the way I’ve been fighting is what got me here in the first place.”
