We’ve all heard the saying, “Keep your eyes on the prize.”
Heading into the biggest fight of his life, Conor McGregor may have his eyes on too many prizes.
McGregor is slated to put his interim featherweight championship up against full-fledged 145-pound titleholder Jose Aldo at UFC 194 on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas. Even with that fight growing ever nearer, McGregor isn’t satisfied with focusing on unifying the differing factions of the featherweight belt, he is also taking aim at the lightweight strap currently wrapped around Rafael dos Anjos’ waist.
“I will K-O Jose Aldo and I will face the winner of the lightweight belt, which takes place a week after, and then I will fight for that. So within the next few fights, I will be a two-weight world champion,” said McGregor on Wednesday’s UFC 194 media conference call.
