Conor McGregor PPV event this weekend abruptly cancelled

An Evening With Conor McGregor was expected to draw hundreds of fans, but the event has been cancelled with no explanation.

It looks like fans that paid up to 1100 pounds for the chance to see Conor McGregor this weekend in London aren’t going to get that opportunity after all. The UFC lightweight champion was scheduled to do a Q&A titled “An Evening With Conor McGregor – Up Close and Personal” in the 02 Arena’s Indigo, but according to the Daily Star, the event has been cancelled with no explanation.

The event would have been McGregor first legitimate public appearance since his 10th-round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather in their huge boxing extravaganza last month, which apparently drew 4.4 million PPV buys in North America.

It appears that tickets will be refunded for the event, which was going to be hosted by UFC color commentator Dan Hardy.

Fans were hoping to get an update on when McGregor might return to the UFC. He hasn’t competed in the Octagon since winning the 155-pound title from Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November 2016. There had been rumblings that Conor would come back to fight Nate Diaz for the third time, possibly in December, but UFC president Dana White squashed those rumors.
