Ever since Conor McGregor’s dolly-hurling bus attack during UFC 223 fight week in April, fight fans have been clamoring for the moment both he and current lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov would finally come face-to-face.
When the fight between the rivals was finally made official for UFC 229 in October, it seemed inevitable the two would take part in an explosive faceoff, presumably during some sort of media appearance in the weeks leading up to the event.
Now, less than one month from their title fight, Nurmagomedov and McGregor will finally take the stage for their first press conference this Thursday in New York City.
Too bad it’s closed to the public. Fight fans in New York will instead have tune into the press conference at a UFC-hosted watch party at Times Square.
Always one to play by his own rules, McGregor took to Twitter on Tuesday to tease his own guidelines for public admission into the event at Radio City Music Hall.
The press conference will be open to the public.

McGregor is of course pushing his “Proper Twelve” Irish whisky brand, which he recently unveiled earlier this week. McGregor also revealed to GQ that he plans on donating up to $1 million per year of the proceeds of the whiskey at $5 per case to first responder organizations and charities.
The Irishman will make his long-awaited return to the Octagon against Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229 on Oct. 6 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
