In mixed martial arts (MMA), if a talented fighter wants the big fights, he or she has to be willing to seize the opportunity and call someone out ranked higher — or at this rate more popular — than them when given the chance. It works a little bit like this.

Unfortunately, no one seems to be gunning for one of the hottest Lightweight fighters in the sport today, Tony Ferguson, who claims no one mentions his name as a possible opponent. That includes “Conor McNugget,” Eddie Alvarez and the rest of the 155-pound division, who are in no hurry to get into the Octagon against one of the “scariest motherfuckers” around.

“You don’t hear McNugget (Conor McGregor) saying my name. You don’t hear (Eddie) Alvarez saying my name,” Ferguson told the Fight Society podcast (via Fox Sports). “You try to have Khabib (Nurmagomedov) trying to surpass me and getting a fake belt from his country. This is what I’m about.

“I’m the real deal,” “El Cucuy” continued. “RDA’s No. 2, I’m No. 3 in the world and no (expletive), these guys don’t want to fight me. I’m a scary motherfucker every time I’m inside that cage. You can’t prepare for somebody like me.”

It seems everybody seems to be forgetting about “El Cucuy.”

One man who wasn’t shy to accepting a fight against Ferguson is former Lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, who will face off against The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 13 winner in the main event of UFC Fight Night 98 this weekend (Sat., Nov. 5, 2016) in Mexico City, Mexico.

A win would more than likely guarantee Ferguson is the next title challenger in the division — no other fighter in UFC history, ever, would have won more consecutive fights and not been rewarded with a title shot. Nonetheless, he ….View full article
