Invicta featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino has been notified of a potential USADA violation.

The 31-year-old San Diego resident was informed Thursday of a potential violation stemming from on an out-of-competition drug test administered on Dec. 5.

Per policy, the substance in question was not identified.

Justino was suspended under the previous drug testing system administered by state athletic commissions. Justino, the former Strikeforce featherweight champion, was suspended a year after testing positive for the steroid stanozolol following a victory over Hiroko Yamanaka in San Diego on Dec. 17, 2011.

Since returning, Justino has won seven consecutive fights, all via finish. Her most recent victory was a second-round TKO over Lina Lansberg in Brazil on Sept. 24.

A UFC statement on Justino noted “Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full fair legal review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information or UFC statements will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”

Justino has not yet commented on the potential violation.
