Cris Cyborg believes Jon Jones deserves a second chance coming into UFC 214.
With both dominant fighters competing for UFC titles at UFC 214, Cris Cyborg believes she and Jon Jones have shared some of the same experiences throughout their careers. This is why the longtime featherweight champion told Combate, she believes “Bones” deserves a second chance before people go judging him.
“My career has had its ups and downs. It’s the same thing with him,” Cyborg said.
“He deserves a second chance. Everybody makes mistakes. I hope Jon Jones wins on Saturday night and becomes a different person from now on, just like he’s been saying he will.”
Cyborg is expected to take on Tonya Evinger for the vacant UFC female featherweight title at UFC 214, on July 29, in Anaheim, California. The card will be headlined by a rematch for the UFC light heavyweight title between champion Daniel Cormier and former champion, Jon Jones. A third title bout between Woodley and Maia will be the co-main event.
