Dana White had nothing but good thing to report following Paulo Costa’s second-round finish of fellow striking standout, Uriah Hall.
Following the middleweight barnburner, White insisted that Costa’s stock is high enough to main event a Brazilian card on the back of his fourth stoppage victory in as many trips to the Octagon.
The UFC president has also identified Costa as the next big star to hail from Brazil — a country synonymous with mixed martial arts.
“Yeah,” replied White when asked if Costa could main event a Brazil card in his next outing.
“I think that kid is the next big Brazilian star. He’s on his way; he’s good looking, an incredible physique and fights like an animal,” he added.
White also went out of his way to praise Costa’s defeated adversary, Uriah Hall.
“I was also impressed with Uriah Hall. The guy I thought Uriah Hall was gonna be at the end of The Ultimate Fighter was the guy that I saw tonight. That was the guy that I expected him to be after The Ultimate Fighter. He fougth an incredible fight tonight. He was in his face, every time he got hit he would punch back with two or three punches. It was awesome, great fight.”
