Dana White: I’m not thinking about Conor McGregor, he’s not in my plans for the next 10 months, at all

Conor who?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White is gearing up for the promotion’s latest pay-per-view (PPV) event, UFC 207, which means he’s focusing on the biggest star in combat sports.

No, it’s not Conor McGregor.

That honor belongs to former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, according to these comments, and the Las Vegas fight boss isn’t even thinking about “Notorious” until next summer.

From his UFC 207 media scrum (via MMA Junkie):

“The last conversation that Conor and I had, he was taking 10 months off. So everybody keeps talking, I’m not even thinking about Conor. Conor is not in my plans for the next 10 months, at all. Conor told me, ‘I’m not available for 10 months. We’re having a baby. My girl stresses out when I fight and I don’t want to put that on her while she’s pregnant.’ I love it. I respect it. I get it. Do your thing, buddy. And that’s it. He’s not in any of our plans for the next 10 months.”

So much for that speedy return.

McGregor captured the lightweight crown with a lopsided technical knockout victory over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 back in November. Following the win, “Notorious” announced a 10-month leave of absence to welcome his first child.

What happens at lightweight between now and then remains a mystery.
