community news, Dana White: WWE won’t allow Brock Lesnar another UFC crossover fight ‘It doesn’t look good for anybody’

The chances of seeing Brock Lesnar compete inside the Octagon are diminishing by the minute, especially since World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) isn’t too keen on allowing its Universal Champion to do another Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) crossover fight in the near future.

That’s according to company president Dana White, who recently stated on the Dan LeBatard Show that “The Beast Incarnate” is under contract with the wrestling promotion for another year.

“Lesnar was still under contract with WWE until next August,” White revealed (via MMA Weekly). “Who knows what would have happened. I don’t count my chickens anymore, I’ll tell you that.”

Back in 2016, WWE allowed Lesnar a one-off opportunity to go back to the Octagon to face Mark hunt at UFC 200. Lesnar went on to defeat Hunt, though he failed multiple drug tests soon thereafter, leading to a whirlwind of events that included a one-year suspension for Lesnar and a legal war between “Super Samoan” and UFC. As a result, White says Vince McMahon and Co. aren’t too thrilled about allowing Lesnar back into the cage as long as he is under contract.

“They didn’t want to do that again,” White said “You saw what happened last time he was under contract and it doesn’t look good for anybody.”

Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones had started a campaign for a potential Heavyweight showdown against Lesnar earlier this year, but after “Bones” failed yet another drug test, that potential big-money bout went up in flames. Nevertheless, it wouldn’t have gone down until late 2018 anyway if WWE had its way … if at all.
