Daniel Cormier accuses Jon Jones of hiding from the USADA and using steroids his entire career.
Things are heating up once more between UFC light heavyweight standouts Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones.
‘Bones’ and ‘DC’ have a rivalry dating back to 2014, from before their championship showdown at UFC 182 which saw Jones beat Cormier in a competitive, but one-sided affair.
Jones, though, a student of Albuquerque’s Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn, was stripped of the title in 2015 due to a hit-and-run incident. In his absence, former Olympian Cormier picked up the vacant 205-pound belt and has gone on to defend it against Alexander Gustafsson and, most recently, Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson.
As well as Jones’ run-in with the law, the 29-year-old MMA phenom ran into trouble with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) last year after testing positive for metabolites of two anti-estrogen blockers, clomiphene and letrozole.
The former champion and pound-for-pound great is currently serving a one-year suspension — retroactive July 2016 — and Cormier was quick to remind Jones of that fact on Twitter.
The American Kickboxing Academy product went a step further and accused Jones of using steroids throughout the bulk of his career.
@dc_mma do you really think I took steroids or is that just another thing you tell yourself to sleep better after I made u forever my bitch

Cormier, who submitted Johnson to retain the title at UFC 210 last Saturday, also called out Jones in the post-fight interview and told his rival to get his ‘sh-t together’.
Jones could return to the Octagon as early as July but, given his unreliability, the UFC could look to book Cormier against the No. 3 ranked Jimi Manuwa instead.
