Daniel Cormier: I thought Jon Jones had gotten better with new training regimen ... NOT!

Jon Jones not only failed to impress Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White and Chael Sonnen during his “garbage-like” performance against Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197 last Saturday (April 23, 2016) in Las Vegas, Nevada — see it here — but he also failed to wow Daniel Cormier.

In fact, “DC” was quick to point out that if the “Bones” who showed up in “Sin City” is the new-and-improved version, then he will have nothing to worry about when they tango for the second time inside the Octagon.

During a recent stop at “The MMA Hour,” Cormier further talked about Jones’ performance and put ice on his theory that a late switch in foes was the cause for his lackluster performance by saying that “OSP” actually fought in a traditional stance instead of his usual southpaw.

As Cormier see it — and has all along — if Jones is wondering why he failed to put on a good fight, he has to look no further than his new training habits, which include a lot of weight lifting.

“Seeing this new guy in there on Saturday, who I truly believe is who he is now; he went home on Saturday questioning, ‘Why did I fight like that? Why did I look like that? I didn’t look like the guy I thought I was going to be’ We saw videos of him jumping high, he jumped so high once off a box that I thought he could dunk a basketball.
