The show must go on. As a late replacement for an out-of-commission Todd Duffee, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) newcomer Daniel Spitz will step up on two weeks notice to challenge Mark Godbeer at UFC 209 on Mar. 4 from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, per a recent report by MMA Fighting.

Spitz, who will make his UFC debut, boasts a professional record of 5-0. He most recently competed in King of the Cage and has defeated three of his opponents via first-round submission. Spitz is unproven at this point in his career, but that’s usually when a fighter is most dangerous.

Godbeer, 33, may not be getting the established name of a veteran like Duffee, but he’s going to be able to fight on the UFC 209 card after all. Having lost his lone UFC appearance this past November, the Englishman must produce fireworks if he wants to keep his role within a shallow heavyweight division.

UFC 209 will be headlined by a welterweight title rematch between current champion Tyron Woodley and striking sensation Stephen Thompson.
