Dennis Bermudez vs. Ricardo Lamas possible for UFC 180 on Nov. 15 in Mexico City

Time to see what Dennis Bermudez is really made of. Streaking featherweight up-and-comer, Dennis Bermudez, has been clamoring for a crack at the big dogs of the division, after not-so-quietly assembling a seven-fight winning streak (one that includes this guy) in the wake of his debut loss back in late 2011. He appears to be getting his wish. UFC Tonight reports that The Menace (14-3) is in talks to throw down against former division number one contender Ricardo Lamas at the upcoming UFC 180 pay-per-view (PPV) mixed martial arts (MMA) event, scheduled for Nov. 15, 2014 in Mexico City. The Bully — who is ranked No. 4 compared to Bermudez at No. 7 — is also 14-3 and recently rebounded from a unanimous decision loss against reigning division kingpin, Jose Junior Aldo, by outpointing the venerable Hacran Dias last June. Fun fight. UFC 180 will be headlined by the heavyweight championship contest pitting champion Cain Velasquez against challenger Fabricio Werdum. Bermudez vs. Lamas is not yet official at this time; however, a formal announcement could be coming down the pipe in the coming weeks, if not days. Stay tuned.
