Evangelista Santos lost to Michael Page at Saturday’s Bellator 158, and it will take a while before he’s able to return to action.
Page dropped “Cyborg” with a vicious flying knee in the second round of their welterweight contest at the O2 Arena in London, and the Brazilian told MMA Fighting on Sunday that he’s currently at the hospital with a serious fracture in his forehead.

Santos took the fight on short notice after going 1-1 in his previous Bellator fights, and says that this injury will kept him sidelined for a while, but doesn’t mean the end of his mixed martial arts career.
“I’ll be back soon,” he said.
According to an Instagram post from Santos’ ex-wife Cris Cyborg, a gofundme account is being created to help the 38-year-old veteran fighter.
Bellator color commentator Jimmy Smith added on Twitter that a former ENT told him that he had “only seen an injury like that in a severe car crash.”
