It looks like it’s going to be a long weekend for those on the fringes of the UFC roster. Less than a day after the UFC cut ties with former TUF 19 winner Eddie Gordon, five additional fighters announced their release from the promotion: Marcus Brimage, Chris Clements, Christos Giagos, Matt Van Buren, and Roger Narvaez.

Brimage (4-4 UFC) is likely the most recognizable name on the list.

The former featherweight debuted in the UFC in 2011 following an unsuccessful run on TUF 14. He competed eight times inside the Octagon, but despite finding some early success, he faltered after losing to Conor McGregor and dropping down to the bantamweight. Brimage exits the UFC having lost four of his last five contests.

Likewise, welterweight veteran Clements (2-2, 1 NC UFC) leaves having won only one out of his final four UFC appearances.

The 39-year-old debuted in 2012 with a victory over Keith Wisniewski, but struggled afterward, losing to both Stephen Thompson and Nordine Taleb. An additional loss to Matt Riddle was overturned into a no contest due to Riddle testing positive for marijuana.
