Floyd Mayweather on Conor McGregor’s prediction of a KO: ‘You have to respect that’

In the latest news surrounding a much-hyped up, but yet-to-be-finalized, bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, “Money” has responded to “Notorious’s” recent claims that he would shock the world and knock out the pound-for-pound great.

While usually boisterous with his trash talk, Mayweather was rather calm, cool and collected when responding to Conor’s prediction.

“I feel he’s entitled to feel the way he wants to feel, the only thing you can do is respect that,” he recently told Fight Hype via The Sun. Of course, Floyd as quick to remind Conor about his unmatched pedigree and success in the fight game.

“I didn’t just become world champion overnight, it was a process, it took me longer than four years, but not as a professional, as professional it took me less than two years to become world champion,” said Mayweather.

“But as an amateur, I had my first amateur fight in 87 and I wasn’t a world champion in the professional ranks until I was 21 I think, 1998.”

That said, Floyd knows all-too well anything can happen in the fight game while giving credit to Dana White for finally opening up about the possibility of the the fight.

“I just want to say, Dana White, I was overseas when they told me what you said, I want to say good work Dana White.”

Of course, the fight is far from official — though one Chael Sonnen says his sources tell him the bout is just about ready to be announced. Whether or not this actually got worked out, is unknown.
