Floyd Mayweather on Dana White’s offer for Conor McGregor fight: ‘He’s a f*cking comedian’

Yeah, you’re probably going to have to do better than that, Dana.

Floyd Mayweather’s response to Dana White’s financial offer for a bout between Mayweather and Conor McGregor was vintage “Money May.” White said Friday on “The Herd” that he’d give Mayweather and McGregor both $25 million and the pay-per-view revenue would be split.

“He’s a f*cking comedian,” Mayweather said when approached in the passenger seat of an SUV by TMZ.

When asked a follow-up question, Mayweather told the cameraman to check out his Hublot watch, which is worth well into the six figures.

“Man, look at my watch,” Mayweather said before his driver pulled away.

Mayweather made a disclosed $32 million to face Andre Berto in 2015. McGregor is a far bigger name than Berto. Mayweather-Berto reportedly only sold between 400,000 and 550,000 pay per views. Mayweather told ESPN earlier in the week that his base pay to come out of retirement would have to be $100 million.

Mayweather also said that he offered McGregor $15 million for the fight and also made note that McGregor had a boss, namely the UFC, and Mayweather does not. White said no offer was ever made, but the $25 million was legitimate.

“I’ll tell you what Floyd, here’s a real offer, and I’m the guy who can actually make the offer, and I’m actually making a real offer,” White told Colin Cowherd on FS1. “We’ll pay you 25 million, we’ll pay Conor 25 million, and then well talk pay-per-view and a certain number. There is a real offer.”

The bout would be under boxing rules. White said he figures a Mayweather-McGregor bout would do more than 2 million buys on pay per view, perhaps even approaching Mayweather-Pacquiao, which went over 4 million.
