It appears that Floyd Mayweather’s house got burglarized while he was out of town for his 40th birthday.
Apparently forty didn’t treat Floyd Mayweather very well. The retired boxer has been chatting up a fight with the UFC’s Conor McGregor lately, but that wasn’t going to get in the way of a big celebration for his 40th birthday in Los Angeles. Unfortunately for Floyd, his Las Vegas house was broken into while he was off in California.
According to a report from TMZ, the thieves were able to escape with around $150,000 in items, most of which were purses. Allegedly an “expensive watch” was on the gone list as well.
Floyd’s weekend-long birthday party in LA involved such luminaries as Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey, according to the aforementioned TMZ.
Mayweather, the undefeated five-division world champion, put aside his boxing career not long after defeating Manny Pacquiao in the most lucrative fight of all time back in in May 2015. A win over Andre Berto was his last official trip to the ring, but he’s been angling for a big-money fight with UFC lightweight champion McGregor in recent months. The chances of that coming together are very much in question at this point.
This burglary clearly won’t put a dent in the financial reserves of Mayweather, but when someone is breaking into your gated community next to a golf course while you’re out of town, things aren’t exactly bulletproof security-wise. Floyd might want to look into that.
